OUR TANNERY - NUTI IVO GROUP
Mr.Nuti Ivo, started his business since 1955 and built a “Italian leather kingdom”: The Nuti Ivo Tanneries Group. After 60 years afford becoming one of the biggest and leading leather group Italy and in the world. With 5 tanneries (Conceria Nuti Ivo, Everest, Lloyd, Papete & Deluxe) and 1 chemical factory Novakem in Italy, 3 well co-operated companies/factories in the world (Hong Kong Tunenic Leather, Morocco Shihara tannery and Paraguay Parpelli tannery). And now the business is passed to 2nd generation: Mr.Fabrizio Nuti’s hand. Unlike most of the tanneries, they produce their leather from rawhide up to finish. It is not easily being done in Europe.
Nuti Ivo Group is selling to most of the worldwide shoes and handbags brands, such as Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Coach, Cartier, Longchamp etc.
OUR Leather - True sustainable leather
Nuti Ivo Group is proud to collaborate with the Department of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Pisa since 80-90’s. They have optimized state of the art technologies used in the leather production cycle to develop highly technical leathers in shorter times and at reduced costs, while setting new safeguards in environmental protection.
Besides, Nuti Ivo new manufacturing plant extends across 3,500 square meters, is just finished and put into production at the end of 2018. This new factory is a part of NUTI IVO GROUP “Green Revolution”: Here we installed 4 new automatic spray machines with Energy Saving (to control low pressure compressed air and emissions in the atmosphere), 4 roller paint machines, 3 machines for printing (2,800 tons), 3 rooms for drying, 2 diathermic oil ironing rotary-press machines and 1 automated measuring tool. Those advanced tools will be fully powered through a the photovoltaic panels placed on the roof. According to evaluation results, positive effects on the environment are going to be immediate: in fact, chemicals and water saving is due to account for 30%, while energy saving will reach nearly 20%. At Nuti Ivo the future is now.
In Dec, 2020, Our group director Mr.Fabrizio Nuti, becomes the new president of UNIC (Unione Nazionale Industria Conciaria). He emphasized: “We are precursors in terms of sustainability, but few are aware of that”, “We need to think in the long-term, about investments in innovation and training, investments to educate consumers to make more intelligent choices, and some aimed at facilitating legislations that can promote such initiatives.”

OUR TANNERY - Conceria Puccini Attilio S.r.l.
1950, the post war era, Mr Puccini Attilio started working in the first tanneries in Ponte a Egola, a small town in the leather district between Florence and Pisa, getting experience in working bovine vegetable tanned leather for leathergoods and footwear. He was 14 years old at that year.
After this period, he decided to start his own business, opening the “Conceria Puccini Attilio” in 1986. He passed down to his son Marco and his daughter Sandra the values of this ancient craft, so they are all currently managing the tannery.
OUR raw material
Conceria Puccini Attilio located nearby the old famous town Pisa. It is a founding members of “The Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium” (Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale), a small group of tuscan tanners In the Leather District, where vegetable-tanned leather is still produced following the traditional methods. The quality of Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather is the result of a long-lasting experience and it’s closely connected to the lifestyle and culture of its production area.
Pelletteria S&G selects to use the raw materials from France, Sweden and Switzerland, which suggested by Mr.Puccini. This is bases on his long-lasting artisan experience to know that these places have the best cattles to provide raw hides. And thanks for Mr. Joe Law’s 40 years leather business experience, he teaches us how to clarify the leather quality and understand the characteristics of leather. The leather we manufactured is already history by itself, charm & superior.
Our leather - Vegetable Tanned Leather
At the same time, Mr.Puccini produces over 60 colours of the vegetable tanned leather which are specialized for Pelletteria S&G. This is a big task for most of the tanners but not giving to much problem to Mr.Puccini and handle perfectly.
Vegetable tanned leather is finished with the process of tannic compound extracted from plants, which is environment protectional material. It possesses unique fragrance & comfort feeling. At the same time we require surface pigment and correction set to the minimum, base on this to present the original outlook feeling of leather to its natural beauty. You can find that the S&G products which on your hand are unique in the world. Enjoy the sole of nature (such as the growth marks, veins, scars, haircells etc which explained below), but please be assured that these natural traces will not affect the practicality and functionality of the products. At the same time, the color tone will change as time goes by, which can show your unique living style and taste on it.
